Knowledge and collection
All of our shared history
Vardemuseerne holds a collection of more than 80,000 objects. The collection has been built through purchases, donations, and museum mergers since the museum was founded in 1912.
It is a cornucopia of a collection, and we proudly maintain that there is an object or source in Vardemuseerne’s collection for every story one could possibly imagine!
The staff are therefore busy making the collection available to colleagues for exhibitions and research, as well as to external researchers and partners. The collection is active and living, and it continually contributes new knowledge and perspectives within otherwise familiar fields and periods.
Yearbooks
From 2008–2023, Vardemuseerne published—and since 2010 has collaborated with Ringkøbing Fjord Museer to publish—the yearbook “Opdatering”. With these yearbooks in hand, you gain access to a wealth of exciting topics and articles with local historical insight.
